Things That Attract My Eye – Part 26

Last weekend, my Wife and I ventured up to an oft visited place, Millthorpe (near Bathurst/Orange) in Central West New South Wales.

We went up to visit our very friends, Diane & David, plus attend the Millthorpe Garden Ramble. Different gardens are on display in different years.

This selection of photos were taken last weekend.

Till next time!

Things That Attract My Eye – Part 23

The following images were taken in May this year. We had a trip up to Millthorpe (near Bathurst/Orange/Blayney), NSW, in May for a good friend’s 60th Birthday party. Some of the images are from there, and others are around and about.

If you ever get a chance to visit the towns/cities mentioned above, please do so. Lots to see! Abercrombie House, just outside Bathurst is definitely a must. A three-storey mansion, built in 1870, where you can have lunch and do a self-guided mansion tour. I highly recommend it.

Things That Attract My Eye – Part 19!

All the images in this post were taken on a small walk I did this morning. We are almost one month into the Summer season here in south-western Sydney. More often than not, the best time to walk is early morning.

The early morning light was again majestic this morning.

Emanating Light

Contre Jour – Leaves

We are very fortunate that we live close to a really relaxing place to walk. Fortunately, we are higher up away from a river that has been known to flood over the years, and in particular, the last 2-3 years.

Normally, it is a wondrous place to walk…so relaxing and because light is what it is, you get to see different subjects lit differently even if you walk at the same time each day.

One of the things I really like to watch out for is ‘Contre jour’ or ‘against the light.’ In particular, trees, shrubs and of of course leaves really come to life with this type of lighting. Here are a few recent images I took. Hope you enjoy them.

Till next time!

Late Afternoon Walk

Last Sunday, late in the afternoon I had just finished off an A4 Watercolour when I looked out the window and saw the beautiful Spring light. It was too much of a temptation and I knew I had to get out there and go for a walk.

I finished up walking 3.3 km (2 miles) down at the Camden Bike Track which runs along a major river in the Sydney Basin. The track is about two minutes walk from where live which is great.

Here are some images I shot on my walk with a phone camera. Such a relaxing walk to cap off my Sunday.

Speaking To Your Soul

The Character of Trees

When I go for a walk, I love looking at trees.

Each tree has its own special character. The branches often remind me of veins or arteries. Here are a few that I’ve come across recently. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. 🙂 All shot on an iPhone 8Plus.

Things That Attract My Eye – 5

Welcome to the 5th post of Things That Attract My Eye.

This crop of images comers from various places, including on a at a dinner near the City, our front garden in Autumn (Fall), the local Nepean River, Millthorpe (Country NSW), opposite the gym I attend and in a car wash.

Images and the beauty within them are sometimes found in the most unlikely places.

Farewell To Autumn (Fall)

It’s the 3rd June 2023 here, (60km / 37 miles) South-West of Sydney, Australia and Autumn is still with us, even though it’s the third day of Winter. The Seasons have been running late here for quite a few years now.

We have a Maple Tree in the front garden and it has been so wonderful to watch the changing colours over Autumn (Fall), and I believe Autumn (Fall) is starting to enter its final stage.

I went out this morning and took a few images on my iPhone before having to dash to an appointment.

Till next time!
