Today’s images come from three walks I did over the past week, two were 2.6 km (1.6 miles), and the other was 4.7 km (2.92 miles). All of these walks were in the same area, along the Nepean River in Camden, near where I ive.
The following images were taken on recent walks close to home, except for an image taken at the Bombo Geological site known as Bombo Quarry, near Kiama, NSW, Australia, which is roughly 1 and a one-and-a-half-hour drive from where we live.
Seems a great day to catch up on a few things, as, in Sydney, South-West it is 43C /109.4F today. Yesterday, it was 41C and the day before, 39C. Tomorrow, It’s supposed to be only 24C. Phew!
The following selection of images were taken across two walks I did this week in the same vicinity, one in that beautiful time of day before Dusk, and the others were taken earlier this morning (before the heat of the day arrived).
Last Wednesday, I walked 4.6 km / 2.86 miles & this morning I walked 7.25km / 4.5 miles.
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the above workshop. It was held at the Alan Baker Gallery in Camden, NSW, which is about a 20-minute drive East of where we live.
The workshop was facilitated by talented local Natural History Illustrator Esther Bolz. It focused on capturing the flora and fauna of the Nepean River, celebrating World Rivers Day.
We were asked to choose from a selection of flora or pick out an animal from an image, and draw from that. I chose flora, namely, “Australian Indigo”, as seen below.
Chose to paint it in Watercolour. Quite happy with it.
Last Sunday, late in the afternoon I had just finished off an A4 Watercolour when I looked out the window and saw the beautiful Spring light. It was too much of a temptation and I knew I had to get out there and go for a walk.
I finished up walking 3.3 km (2 miles) down at the Camden Bike Track which runs along a major river in the Sydney Basin. The track is about two minutes walk from where live which is great.
Here are some images I shot on my walk with a phone camera. Such a relaxing walk to cap off my Sunday.
Welcome to the 6th post of ‘Things That Attract My Eye.
Half of the images were taken near or not far from home and the others on short drives. Once again, they all taken on a phone camera and at all different times of the day. It pays to look up, to down and most importantly you need to be ‘present’…to take in the beauty (either man-made or natural) that is all around us.

Welcome to the 5th post of Things That Attract My Eye.
This crop of images comers from various places, including on a at a dinner near the City, our front garden in Autumn (Fall), the local Nepean River, Millthorpe (Country NSW), opposite the gym I attend and in a car wash.
Images and the beauty within them are sometimes found in the most unlikely places.
